Hi, I'm after some straight up advice as to my options. My wife intends to file for Bankruptcy after announcing she has loans coming out her ears that she has not told me about. The ones i now know about amount to around £40k but i guess history has taught me there could be more. My question is, is my house at risk? We have been married 18 years, she has lived in my house for 20 years and never paid a penny towards the mortgage which is solely in my name. Any advice would be very welcome. Thank you.

Hi Gary, and welcome to the forum.

I think you need some professional advice as soon as possible.

Although your house is in your sole name, and you have paid the mortgage, it can get more complicated than that.

I'm guessing your wife works as well as yourself if she has been able to obtain loans?

I would contact an expert for some free advice. There are several who post on here and whose details can be found under the expert link on the left hand side of the page.

Ascend may you find no resistance
Know that you made such a difference
All you leave behind will live to the end
The cycle of suffering goes on
But memories of you stay strong
Someday I too will fly and find you again
