Posted - 21 September 2008 : 10:23:53 I very recently have seperated from my wife and she moved out of our mortgaged home which payments are upto date into a rented house but we have substantial debts most are in my name approx £90000 she had a small loan for a car and had access to a credit card set up in my name which she used quite often is she still as responsible for the bankruptcy proceedings as me or will she be waved all this hassle. This is the only option we have and is a great part of the reason for the seperation.

As the credit card is in your name, you are solely reposnsible for the debt. Any unsecured debts in your sole name (except student loans) will be cleared in your BR. However, any joint debts will become 100% the liability of your wife (full balance).
