Posted - 13 March 2008 : 10:13:21 my main dispute is with the Inland Revenue. They claim I owe `penalaties' for forms they have even acknowledged they have received. Interest on payments, acknowledged as received or `paid', added payments for undercalculation of PAYE and NIC, of which I have no knowledge plus SAE, clearly recorded as being received on time and owing nothing.YET they have managed to bankrupt me without proper notice, and taken action in the courts whilst I was certified sick and receiving treatment for cancer. I have taken the case to a solicitor for a free opinion. This was that in view of the evidence the probability is that I am correct.
Being currently broke, I cannot afford to pay for an expert. Is there anything you can suggest that I can do. It seems that I have no way of putting my eveidence in front of a court. They block me all the time. They aim to take my house over in 28 dyas and sell it. What can I do ?

Posted - 13 March 2008 : 14:29:04 Hi Annie W,
Welcome to the forum.
Can I ask at which court the IR made you bankrupt? Normally it is the high court in London, but I would like to be sure.
Are you claiming you owe nothing?
There is a process whereby you can have your bankrutcy annulled via the courts, you would need to prove you do not owe anything to the IR or you have paid in full what you owe.
Have you had your meeting with the Offical Reciever yet?
They will be able to advise on the course of action you can take if you feel you don't owe anything and have been wrongly declared bankrupt.
If you have had the meeting what have they said?
With this information I can advice further what the next steps are.
Kind Regards,
