Hi
I over the last 11yrs i have acquired an unsecured debt of roughly £40000. This debt came along because of school, es fiance, credit cards etc. At the moment i have been coping with the payments, however i have been offered positions in other countries that i am very much interested in as the cost of living is much lower. There is no way that i will be able to keep up with my payments and i have been advised by an insolvency group to declare myself bankrupt. Will this effect me in my new country and should i commence this process now or wait until i move and then return and take care of this?

Hi juzay,

Welcome to the forum.

This would on depend on where you plan to go and for how long, my suggestion would be to contact the authorities of the relevant country you plan to go to
find out what their position is with regard to Bankruptcy.

You can always wait until you are settled then either come back or pay a firm to represent you in court and at the OR meeting which will save you having to come back.

Kind Regards
