Hello,
My accountant has told me that he read about new Bankrupcys laws where the info about people being made bankrupt would only be in the London gazette and not local papers but he cannot recall where he read this. Can someone expand on this please

The London Gazette is, of course, online and you can search bankruptcies right back to 1850 or maybe even further. Worth knowing if, say, applying for a mortgage 7 or 8 years after discharge.

I think that there has been some genuine confusion about the announcement, which did not appear to related to the advertisement of bankruptcy proceedings at all but about general advertising in insolvency cases. There is a lot of unecessary advertising of annual meetings, final meetings, notices of dividend payments etc, but I did not read into the article and believe it to relate to a ban on advertising bankruptcy cases.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Hi will

There has been a lot of confusion regarding the advertising of a bankruptcy notice - after an article in the Telegraph.

Everyone was waiting in anticipation for the chancellors budget - where it as to be discussed.

it is not as simple as no adverts for April 1st but can I direct you to the threads on the iva.co.uk site that have discussed the matter in length.

I also have heard it will be published in the London Gazette. I've just posted on another thread about how soon after bankruptcy would my name be published.
