Hi Indebts,

I will second what Brett has said, It is always best to speak with more than one company so you can compare not only price, but what your being told.

All the best

Hi Indebts,

They can vary some will charge you an upfront fee where as others will draw their fee from contributions made.

May I make a suggestion that you talk to more than one company as you can then compare.

Have a chat with Melanie she will be able to give you an idea of her charges to compare this to.

It is always better to shop around as with anything else then you know you have found the best deal.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Hello Melanie, thx too for your help. I will contact them tomorrow for the prices on this again. How much can does an Iva cost or is it variable?
melanie_giles Posted - 06 April 2008 : 20:23:34
IPs will generally not charge for work carried out with bankruptcy assistance, so the fees you have been quoted are more likely to be relating to an IVA - but do be sure that you get all of the options explained to you so that you can make a reasoned choice.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Hello Skippy thx for the prompt reply. This is a personal bankruptcy I might be going into an iva but i am not sure. Could a specialist charge as much as this?

Hello Brett many thanks for your quick response. I will not name the company yet as they are local to me. I will ask them tomorrow what these fees are for, they have spoke about going into an iva could this be what the extra costs are for? thanks again

Hi Indebts,

If you are declaring Bankruptcy the fee is £495 for the court and that’s it, unless you are using a assisted bankruptcy specialist then they would charge a fee on top of this, but this would not stop you declaring your own bankruptcy for £495.

Who is the firm that have quoted you the above?

Hi Indebts and welcome to the forum. Are you already in an IVA? Is this a personal or company bankruptcy?

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
