Posted - 08 April 2008 : 23:07:55 I have indefinite leave to remain in this country but do not have a british passport and still hold a south african passport. I have lived in this country for 24 of my 35 years. I have paid income tax and NI for all the years I have been in employment here which has been 11 years. Am I still able to apply for bankruptcy?

so minimum contractual payments are about 500 per month. ( but for a long time!)
IVA payments will depend upon your monthly disposable income and the creditors you have so you would need to speak with an Insolvency Practitioner about the viability of one and the monthly payments. But 5 years and you are debt free.
Br is also an option but you do need to discuss this first as there may be implications re job, assets such as house / car etc, plus you should really have an understanding of the process before you try.
There are a couple of experts who offer assisted br so depends really which part of the country you are in as to who to call. Alternatively you can have a free chat with them which may be helpfull.
1st action speak to an IP and check out the IVA route.
