Hello,

I have almost finished filling out the form online and you wanted some advice on the cause of bankruptcy.

I have simply put:

I have missed payments to my IVA.
I am now in a position where my outgoings are now more than my income.
I have not gambled since August 2006 and I have now sought professional help for my gambling problems though GA and attend meetings weekly.

Would this do as an explanation or can anyone word this better?

Thanks John

Would be good to identify why you have missed the iva payments, how long you were in the IVA and what change in circumstance caused the IVA to fail.

i.e. I started my IVA in OCT 2006 and initially was payimng 250 per month. This was tight but I wanted to try to repay as much of my debts as possible.

In december 2007 my income changed becacause XXXX ( job change / overtime change / lost contract at work etc etc etc ) PLUS the increase in utility bills ( gas / electricity / council tax) has reduced my disposable income to X .

I have been unable to pay my IVA contributions because of this and have been informed by my supoervisor that the IVA has now failed.

I wish to have a clean start in life and would like to petition for my own Br.

That type of thing is probably a little flowery but explains well what has happened.

Also be prepared to advise them where you got the money for Br as you have no disposable income.

Lastly you will need to send relavant docs to the OR so check out their office and send them with a note when you get your Br number

hope this helps a little
