Posted - 18 April 2008 : 13:06:19 Well I survived! I arrived at court this morning for 9am appt. The lady in the office was very calm and friendly - went through the forms and took my money. I had to wait about ten mins before going up to see the judge - who was much more approachable/friendly than I could ever have hoped. He checked I knew what going BR involved and that I have had advice. He confirmed that my IVA had failed and took a letter from me that my IVA supervisor had written confirming its failure and that they were happy for me to go BR. (Thanks for letting me know about this Brett I could have had problems without it) That was it! At 9.20am this morning I was declared BR. I then went to another room with the court official and she rang the OR - I had a brief conversation to confirm my details and they said they will write to me next week once they have had the opportunity to go through my SOA. Again a very pleasant lady - hope my OR caseworker is next week! I know some of you are going to be going to court soon so, from someone who hasn't slept properly for months and could hardly hold the pen for shaking this morning, please let me reassure you it really isn't a grilling, everyone is normal and very pleasant. The judge wished me the very best for the future and said he hoped this was the turning point for me.

Posted - 18 April 2008 : 18:55:16 I did my BR today as well at Birmingham County Court, I was very nervous but was relieved to find all the people I dealt with were friendly and very helpful they told me everything I needed to do and even took me from floor to floor to get me to the right places, and I was in and out in 1 and a half hours, just have to wait for OR to call on Monday.
