Just wondered if the O/R would show any interest in taking my P reg Ford from me? Due to the fact i am still paying the loan off that i had for it. I have children, i am a carer, and public transport would cost me loads each week compared to running my car.

Any comments would be great, thankyou

The fact that your income is derived from benefit makes no difference to the issue of your car, which will definately be treated as exempt property.

Hi clma

From what I have read on this forum you should be able to keep your car as it doesn't exceed £2500

Hi Melanie, yes i assume the car is worth no more than £750, but obviouslly it is worth alot more to myself and my young family.
Local car sales and news paper ads reflect this price.

Will the fact i claim state benefits effect any decission the O/R makes? or is this irelivant? Thank you x

I assume that the car is worth less than £2,000, in which case it will be treated as exempt property by the OR.
