One of my creditors is HM C&R, recently they wrote to me from the NI debt management unit stating they would take me to the county court, on the form it asks to fill in the section on bankruptcy. I have a few days to consider this, do I offer to pay off in instalments or do I have the NI conts. written off in my bankruptcy, it is not very much but do government depts. and the OR consider it reckless not to pay them, perhaps resulting in a BRO? I have not been in agreement with the NI to pay them off gradually previously.

Thanks.

Personally I would just send the paperwork to the OR and let them deal with it for you.

Hi antp,

You need to inform the NI debt management unit of your Bankruptcy and the debt will be written off.

This should not be cause for concern in itself towards a BRO/BRU and you should not offer installments as this would be preferential treatment to a creditor.

Yes, I recently became bankrupt earlier in May, the NI debt is for previous tax years, I don't owe the taxman anything.

Thanks.

Are you already bankrupt? And if so do these payments relate to the post or pre bankruptcy period?
