I had my OR interview last week and she was very nice, she said that as I had some extra income I would have to pay £200 a month on an IPA which I am happy with.

I currently have a compensation claim ongoing at court and possibly will get around £4000 from it, if I do and I get it during my BR does the OR take it all just a percentage and also if I get it after the BR ends but still during my IPA do they still take some of it.

I dont mind if they do after all I do owe people money so it would only be fair I just wanted to clarify it.

Dear Shylock
It depends on what the claim is made up of. The compensation for physical injury is personal to you, and that is excluded from a claim by the official receiver. But if a chunck of the claim is for loss of income or profits (if you were a trader) then this element is potentially up for grabs.

Personal injury claims are exempt from bankruptcy proceedings, so you ought to be able to keep the money.
