Posted - 09 May 2008 : 00:08:58 Hi, im 21yrs old and it quite a lot of debt. The thing is I live somewhere and I dont pay rent as it is with a friend wh knows I dont earn much. Will he be affected by the bankruptcy or anybody else at this address.

Posted - 09 May 2008 : 17:46:21 Dear DJL, All of your creditors will be told about your bankrupcty - that's how you get the debts cleared off. They, in turn, tell credit reference agencies. The rules changed a couple of years ago to stop one person at an address getting a bad credit rating and it affecting anyonbe else who lives there, so it should have no impact on anyone else at your address .. but do bear in mind it's not a perfect world!
