Posted - 15 May 2008 : 16:46:43 My wife gets about £110 a month in child benefit and tax credit. I am going BR but my wife is not. Will these benefits be taken into account on our I & E's? I am sure i read somewhere that benefits are not included as income.

Posted - 17 May 2008 : 13:06:48 Yes they will be, but the you will be made a full allowance against them as child benefit is meant to be spent on the children.

Posted - 15 May 2008 : 19:34:32 The tax bit i think is based upon the families earnings, i.e just mine as my wife doesn't earn. This is worth £10.50 a week. The rest is child benefit at about £70 every 4 weeks. Are either of these added to MY incomings?

Is The claim for tax and working tax credits a joint claim?
If so you will need to enter these in the relevant section for benefits and then any amount you wife contributes towards the bills separately.
