Hi Melanie

sorry for delay in getting back.

for some reason the High Court are charging 162 but they were unable to identify why.

Good job I had some cash on me otherwise it might have been embarrasing for my client

Paul

Why is the High Court more expensive?

Just a quick update to the court fees
if you need to petition for bankruptcy at the High Court in Londion the court fee is £162 rather than £150 just to make things simple.

The other part of the fee - Official receivers deposit - remains the same at £345.

If you are on income support you will qualify for a saving on the Court fee which is £150 - leaving you £345 to pay.

Hi Eamonn and welcome to the forum.

The fee is usually £495, but you can qualify for a discount if you are on a certain mix of benefits. The best thing to do would be to check with your local county court to see if you qualify for a discount.

Regards
