Posted - 19 May 2008 : 10:07:10 Hi all,
A couple more things i could do with advice on please.
Last week i applied for a coop account as i am intending on going BR in the next month or so. I haven't heard whether it has been accepted or not, but assuming it is should i:
1. Tell them i have changed my mind and don't want the account after all. Then once i am BR apply again, thus stopping the OR closing the account and the problems that may cause with Direct Debits etc.
2. Keep it open but not use it until i am BR, make the OR aware of it and then advise the coop once i am BR.
Second question.
Since February i have been having my salary paid into my wifes account. I have also set up my DD's to come out of this account. My wife is not going BR. Will the OR want to see my wifes statements for this period? I can obviously provide statements up to February but my wife is funny about stuff like that, she sees it as an invasion of HER privacy when she has done nothing wrong.
All advice is appreciated, i do feel guily at keep asking questions but when i have gone through it and can advise others i will. |

As Melanie says I think option 2 is your best bet.
As far as your wife is concerned I think it highly unlikely they will want to see her statements.

Posted - 19 May 2008 : 10:42:03 Me again......my wages were paid into my husbands account for the two years of my IVA and now after my BR. The OR didn't want to see his statements, said she was happy for me to continue to use my husbands account for wages (easier DD's, SO's etc all set up) and that if my wages changed at all to let them know directly. I have opened a Co-op account post BR and will put a little money in each month so I can buy food/fuel without my husband having to withdraw cash. I know exactly how you are feeling - things keep popping into your head - usually 2am ish. It will get better - hang in there!

Posted - 19 May 2008 : 10:19:51 Option 2 would seem the most sensible route - and don't think that it is automatic that the account will be closed down - most bank accounts these days are released by the bank as soon as the Official Receiver can deal with this post-bankruptcy.
It is unlikely that the OR will want to see your wife's bank statements and would probably need a Court Order to get them in any case. Did your wife benefit from any of your debts, or did you spend all of the money on yourself?
