Posted - 04 June 2008 : 20:44:34 I had my phone call from OR Office today. The lady was pleasant but matter of fact. Wewent through SOA. She said that it appeared I had consolidated and ran up credit on cards again by living beyond my means. I agreed to a point and behan to get upset and saying what a mess I had made of things she told me not to get upset as lots of people have done the same thing and at least now I had taken actionto sort it. After her comments I am really worried that i am on for a BRU. Doesn't appear that I am going to get a IPA.
What does anyone else think? Am I reading to much into it. I feel as sick as a pig, I don't feel like a weight has been lifted or anything.

BRU stands for Bankruptcy Restriction Undertaking. Although you still get discharged automatically, a BRU will keep you under the restrictions of bankruptcy for any time period up to a maximum of 15 years.

Posted - 04 June 2008 : 22:28:32 Hi Tess,
Don't worry, you have not done anything that hundreds of others haven’t, Just living beyond your means is not in itself enough to warrant a BRU otherwise everyone would have one and they might as well scrap the twelve month discharge.
