Do I need to destroy and send my bank card for the new account,or just the credit cards to the OR.I have opened a new bank account and hoping my bank will allow me to keep it.

If I send the original payslips and statments ,will they be returned after the interview or kept in my file? will copies suffice?

regrads Abd

Strictly speaking the bankrupt's records form part of the estate to be retained by the OR and eventually destroyed. Things like wage-slips, ought to be returned however, as they can be needed to support mortgage applications, benefit claims and tax credit applications so ought to be returned upon request.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Hi Tess,

Not a problem if the OR meeting is face-to-face, but if it is just general consumer debt and under £100k ish, there's a 99% chance it will be a telephone interview.

I got my wage slips back the day of my interview with examiner.

Hi Abd,

You have nothing to lose by asking the question!

I haven't received anything back either, and I seem to remember reading somewhere that they would be destroyed.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Hi Abd,

Interesting point. I never received mine back, but then I didn't ask! Vicki's assumption seems reasonable and I'm sure the OR would return them if asked to do so.

Hi abd - you send back (chopped up!) credit cards and bank cards that relate to your debt.
The new card for your new account you keep hold of.

I assume you get payslips etc back......but I haven't yet! Will let one of the BR assist experts clarify that we do!! Can't imagine they will want them....they'll run out of room if they kept everyones! lol!
