Posted - 05 June 2008 : 21:21:49 Do I need to destroy and send my bank card for the new account,or just the credit cards to the OR.I have opened a new bank account and hoping my bank will allow me to keep it.
If I send the original payslips and statments ,will they be returned after the interview or kept in my file? will copies suffice?

Posted - 09 June 2008 : 23:00:02 Strictly speaking the bankrupt's records form part of the estate to be retained by the OR and eventually destroyed. Things like wage-slips, ought to be returned however, as they can be needed to support mortgage applications, benefit claims and tax credit applications so ought to be returned upon request.

Posted - 07 June 2008 : 16:13:42 Hi Tess,
Not a problem if the OR meeting is face-to-face, but if it is just general consumer debt and under £100k ish, there's a 99% chance it will be a telephone interview.

Posted - 06 June 2008 : 11:33:26 I haven't received anything back either, and I seem to remember reading somewhere that they would be destroyed.

Posted - 06 June 2008 : 10:09:27 Hi Abd,
Interesting point. I never received mine back, but then I didn't ask! Vicki's assumption seems reasonable and I'm sure the OR would return them if asked to do so.

Posted - 06 June 2008 : 07:18:30 Hi abd - you send back (chopped up!) credit cards and bank cards that relate to your debt. The new card for your new account you keep hold of.
I assume you get payslips etc back......but I haven't yet! Will let one of the BR assist experts clarify that we do!! Can't imagine they will want them....they'll run out of room if they kept everyones! lol!
