Posted - 12 June 2008 : 22:16:45 What a ridiculous arrangement, but hopefully one which will enable to you to save up for the bankruptcy fees whilst keeping creditors at bay.

Posted - 12 June 2008 : 14:11:23 2049!!! If that's a short term debt management plan I would hate to see what a long term one is!! lol Well done for dealing with your creditors. Hopefully you will be able to pay them off in the future and be totally debt free.

Posted - 09 June 2008 : 11:04:16 Hi Joanne, the cccs told me to apply to the anglian water trust fund and the british gas trust fund for help with the BR fee. I did this but was not successful so had to borrow the money from my in-laws. Apply for help from them and see how you get on. Good luck! |

Posted - 09 June 2008 : 09:59:15 Hi Joanne,
Another option may be to enter into a short-term debt management plan to keep the creditors off your back whilst you save up the BR fee.

Posted - 09 June 2008 : 08:45:08 Hi Joanne If you have made the decision to go BR is there anything you can stop paying? Anyway you could get the money together that way? I was actually in an IVA and once I had made the decision BR was the only way out I stopped paying into my IVA so I could save up the money to go BR! I am sure everyone who goes BR must do something like this to get the money together!!!
When you know for definate that you are going BR you can inform the debt collectors of your court date and that they will be contacted by the OR in the near future. That will get them off your back!
I know how you're feeling, its no fun struggling with money and being hassled by debt collectors, but you will get lots of support and help through this forum
Hope this helps a little

Posted - 09 June 2008 : 00:59:01 hi joanne.m, i am sure CCCS gave me a list of utilitiy companies, who operate a trust fund?,some of which cover the full costs of bankruptcy ,maybe yours is there?.You can talk to the CCCs bankruptcy team ,i found them very good. |

Posted - 08 June 2008 : 12:26:16 Hi Joanne.M and welcome to the forum.
From what you have said, it is clear BR is the right option for you. If you are on income support (or other benefits), you may qualify for a discount of £150 on the BR fee of £495.
