My debts (unsecured, around £18,500) arose during/after a seperation about 4 years ago. Since then, apart from one or two token payments i haven't made any payments for 18 months. I have been guilty of burying my head in the sand and have moved a number of times so my creditors have only just caught up with me. Is it worth me making a token payment to my creditors so the OR doesn't think i haven't been avoiding trying to pay them back?, many thanks, joe90

Whether you make token payments or not, the OR is not likely to bothered either way to be frank, and if you have decided that bankruptcy is the right route to follow the sooner you apply the better as creditors will obviously start chasing you now they have relocated you.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Hi Joe90,

As long as you've made at least a couple of payments since taking the credit out, you should be fine. You haven't behaved any differently to many people the OR has seen already so I souldn't worry!
