I have started on my form and am stumped as what to answer on 1.16 legal proceedings, I have a CCJ that is about 10 years old I am still paying do I enter this here? Also do I continue to pay my CCJ up until BR appointment?

According to Thomas Charles terms it is an instruction fee, what exactly they have done for that amount of money I do not know because I had to go through everything again with my IP and I have been in contact with them directly ever since. I have called them asking for a refund like you suggested I am waiting for a call back, it is alot of money when you are in a situation like this to part with and the fee exhaused all my funds Here's hoping I'll get something back so I can move on with my BR, if not I have to wait til August.

Have you asked the advisory company for your money back? If you have decided not to go forward with an IVA, on what basis are they holding the money?

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

I have my date.... Tuesday August 5th 9:45am for my BR hearing, as it is quite away I have typed up letters to all my creditors giving them the details and politely asking that they refrain from contacting me as an OR will be in contact after. Phew.. I am so glad now I have made the decision although it cost me only 2 hours sleep last night Hopefully the wolves will stop ringing my phone and writing to me.

Aww so sorry you had to part with that amount of money, We are lucky that our MIL is paying for our BR which together is 995.00 . If we had of had to wait than we wouldnt have been able to do it for a few months!!

The time will fly by until August, ill let you know how we get on,

Take care

Hi Pleasehelpme22

Good luck on the 24th wish I could get mine over and done with so quickly, unfortunately I just handed over £518.00 to a company in fees for considering an IVA (not quite sure what they did for that amount of money they just passed my details to an IP and didn't even advise me that BR was my best route, guess they get no money for saying that!) so I am sick at the thought of that wasted money, infact I feel taken advantage of. So I have to spend 2 months saving up which is gonna be frustrating.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi Sueann,

In which case, an IPA/IPO looks likely, but you'll still have enough left over for Sky :)

I do not have a partner just a cat...

Hi Pleasehelpme22,

I would suggest taking a little extra money with you for a couple of drinks afterward. It takes a bit of time for the reality of a life without debt to sink in ....it's a fresh new start, so enjoy it!

Hi Sueann

Glad your managing with the forms ok, i had to do mine and my partners for him as he is not particulary quick on a computer and it would have taken him hours!!

I found that the enquiry line was also a good help if i wasnt to sure about a particular question...

Weve saved our forms and printed a copy .... roll on the 24th!!

Phew.. I wouldn't know what to do without my Sky box it has been my life line along with my broadband over the years due to lack of social life paying my creditors, that is good news. I have worked out that my disposable income is around £267.00 so I guess I will pay 60% of that on an IPA. Sky is only £17.50.
JulianDonnelly Posted - 10 June 2008 : 14:13:01
Hi Sueann,

In answer to your first question, I would list the expenditure as just telephone. with regar Sky, it is not an allowable expenditure. As £100 disposable income is allowed before the OR looks at an IPA/IPO, I'm sure you'll have enough spare to continue your Sky subscription (I didn't lose mine in my BR).

On my expenditure sheet I have just listed telphone my broadband is included but I have a special arrangement with Virgin which infact makes this cheaper than having just telephone services, do I list as just telephone or shall I add braodband to it.

Also I have Sky TV, I have omitted this from my expenditure sheet, they will not cancel this will they??

Form not looking so scary now.

Hi Sueann,

Only list the cards/accounts that are still "live" or open.
