My husband and I have our appointment with the court on 4th July and I am worried that the judge will not agree to our bankruptcy and we will have wasted £1000, and made our situation worse.

We have no assets and £70,000 worth of debt, my husband is currently out of work, but if he was able to find a job, based on past earnings, we would have approx £600 to pay to our debts each month (although this does not make a dent in it, especially as a large amount if to the tax man who will not freeze interest).

Will the judge say that my husband will need to find work and then see how we go. If my husband did manage to find a job in the next few weeks, is there sill a chance he will not sign us off?

I cannot see that your application would be refused, based upon the information you have provided, and do be advised that you get your deposit monies back in the unlikely event that the application is refused.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Hi T76 - welcome to the forum.
The judge will want to know that you have taken advice and are aware of the impact of going BR.
He will be able to see that BR is the best way forward in your current situation.
The judge won't tell your husband to find a job.
If your husband finds a job then you'll need to change the figures on your SOA.
I currently work just 16 hours a week and all the OR said to me was to inform them if that changed.
I imagine that will be the case with you too.
