Posted - 11 June 2008 : 15:15:25 Can you keep your existing contract mobile once you become BR? Mine cost me no more than 40 a month. Would the OR allow this? Thanks |

Posted - 14 June 2008 : 14:04:42 I went BR last thursayd and wasn't allowed to keep my contract mobile phone even though it's only £25 a mth. OR told me i could have another contract but when i went into vodafone shop they changed my phone to a pay as you talk!! not impressed. Was also told NO WAY to another contract. Im not sure why i was told it'd be ok? |

Posted - 12 June 2008 : 10:31:13 I also went BR after a failed IVA - mine was with Accuma.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
BTW I was allowed to keep my contract mobile with Vodafone at £35 a month.

Posted - 11 June 2008 : 15:58:30 It was the dithering bottom lip that did it!
I went BR on 18th April this year - so a newie in the scheme of things. I have found I manage my money much better - if I want something I will have to save for it. No more debt worries though - I have just come out of an IVA and that was a horrible experience for me (I know it works well for others) I went from creditor hassle to IVA hassle! Now I can get on with life knowing I have no debt - I can sleep at night - no more panics - no more phone calls or letters. I can handle having BR on my credit record for six years - don't want credit anyway!
Yep - it was a good move for me!

Knowing my luck i'd get Judge Dredd and an OR that detested their job & everything that came with it and make the next 3 years hell for me...lol |

Posted - 11 June 2008 : 15:38:55 Full of something!! lol! I'm like a sponge kboy33 - soaking up info! All learnt from this forum!!! Once I had decided to go BR I was quite looking forward to the thought of being debt free after years of debt. Was really nervous on court day....must have looked it too because everyone was nice to me that day!

Is it wrong that i'm not worried at all about my impending BR? I've been scrimping for years and just feel like a clean slate is what i need. I'm sure once i start filling my forms in and going to the court it'll be a different story though...lol |

Posted - 11 June 2008 : 15:29:27 Hi kboy33 - I put down £50 a month for landline and mobile - which has been accepted by the OR. If you put down a higher figure that the OR reduces you could still pay for some/all of your contract mobile with your disposable income.
