We didnt allow for a family holiday will this be allowed to add on?

Drowning mummy

Oh yes your babies have to come first , and you are right BR is not an easy option, having to accept weve made serious errors in our finacial affairs to our familys has caused so much woory and strain on us and our families. Good luck to you and your family

Julian
If we managed to get the OR to accept our holiday allowance of £50 per month we would be under the £100 surplus. Hope that works out to be the case as we really dont want to be strained after the BR , we just want a fresh start for our family

Hi Tanya,

your expenditure does seem reasonable enough to me. Just bear in mind that if you have a disposable income in excess of £100 a month, the OR will look to an IPA/IPO. However, unlike in an IVA, the OR will only take between 50-70%, rahter than the 100%+ in an IVA of your disposable income.

Yes we are the same. Before baby 2 was born (6 months ago) I tried returning to work full time. This almost destroyed me. I work as a long haul air hostess and it meant being out of the country 5 days per week! I pined for my little girl who was one at the time. The real turning point for me, was when I was in South Africa (a 12 hour flight away) and my baby was taken to hospital with a fever and rash. I knew then that this could not continue just to pay the debts. I then had baby 2 and have been on maternity ever since (going back in Sep). I'm going to go back part-time and work just 3 flights per month. That way I get to be at home with them and it saves an enormous amount on nursery fees. Not what our creditors want to hear I am sure and trust me I have experienced and still am experiencing an enormous amount of guilt, but I have to put my babies first. We have been stupid but now we are paying the ultimate price....BR. If anyone thinks this is the easy way out, they couldnt be further from the truth!

Drowning mummy, we were exactly the same as you, to afford an IVA i would have had to work in the evenings after looking after our baby boy during the day, not see my fiance until half 9 at night when i was knackered from my day and he was as well because of work during the day and looking after baby whilst i was at work in the evenings and ALL my wage was for IVA, there was no way we could live like that!!!

Ill let you know how the meeting goes on Tuesday and wish you all the luck with you BR

Hi,
I read somewhere about a holiday allwance, cant remember where. It said about £700-£950 PA based on a family of four.

We are just doing ours now (only realised on friday that we cant afford an IVA, so I've hopped over from that forum). We are left with about £50, but not sure if some things will be allowed or not.
Let us know how it goes!
