Well we have just got back home from our 9am Hearing and celebratory drink.
Firstly can i say how stress free it was, and looking back i cant believe how worried i was. When we arrived we were shown through to the waiting room, within 10 minutes we were taken through to a very open admin office (about 8 people at their desks) however we were shown to a corner desk which was segragated from other people, here the lady was really polite and told us what was going to happen , she checked through our forms , took our money and made us swear on the bible our statement was true (we chose to use the bible you dont have to) We were then shown back through to the waiting room and told to wait for 20 minutes approx , by this time there were about 8 other people waiting to go bankrupt. At 10am we were called back in to the office and the corner desk, given the reciept for our money and our BR Order. As we left the lady told us the OR will call us tomorrow for a telephone interview.
All in all it went really smoothly, The lady who saw to us was very polite and didnt make us feel beneath her or anything(i was slightly worried about that) . So to all you that have your meetings to come can i just so please dont worry yourself silly , it really is all over and done with in a matter of minutes!!

I know. My OR phone call took 1 hour and 10 minutes. He went through everything. I think he was new.

This is great news Tanya. Its a great feeling to be debt free at last isn't it. My health started to improve soon after I was made BR. The advice I was given for my OR call was to have water by the side of me and to go through my SOA a few times so that it felt natural talking about it.
I hope both You Tanya and You Hammy have straight forward and quick OR meetings. Mine was okay but the guy I was speaking to managed to cut himself of 3 times

Congratulations, here's to a debt free future.
I am also BR but mine wasn't quite as easy as yours by the sound of it. I got to court for 9am only to be told the court didn't open until 10am. Went for a very long walk and returned at 10am. About 11am was called into an office where they checked my paperwork, was led to another waiting room and told to wait for the judge to see me. Approximately 1pm was called in to see the judge, given my paperwork and sent back downstairs to admin. 1.20pm was given my order and sent on my way.
Would agree with you though Tanya, it was stress free and i wasn't made to feel like a social outcast. Need to deal with the OR now and then hopefully 12 months will come around very soon. |
