Posted - 24 June 2008 : 15:14:18 Hi to you all
As you may know me and fiance went bankrupt today however i have just had a discussion with my bank (basic account - opened when we initially were going to go for a IVA) and they have said that they will not allow us to keep the account open as it is there policy to CLOSE the acc as soon as a bankruptcy order is recieved from our OR.
We need a bank account can anyone recommend one to us please?? we obviuosly have crappy credit so i feel that they will all say no

Posted - 24 June 2008 : 15:52:32 OK OK So ive stopped panicking now! and have managed to open a co op cashminder account over the phone. I was upfront about the BR and all they have said is i need to sent in 1 form of ID then they will forward me the welcome pack etc.
So pleased as i was so worried we wouldnt be able to open account. Will my OR need to know about this new account?

Posted - 24 June 2008 : 15:43:12 Hi Tanya Have you tried the Co-op basic account. I have one with them and they are BR friendly. You will need to call them or go into a branch. Just explain that your are BR and they will help you. You get an electron card and internet banking. You can have ddi and standing orders set up. I think they are a very good bank. Congratulations on your BR by the way.
Hugs Sue The only way is up
