Posted - 10 July 2008 : 10:57:24 When I was considering an IVA I opened a Co-op Cash Minder account and stopped using my bank account, I destroyed the cards.
Question 5.1 asks if I have these cards, do I answer yes but add not used since May 08 and destroyed? and just list my cash minder account as active. Also, when I obtained my cashminder account I got a pre-paid credit card with Virgin which is empty but do I need to list this also?
Again most of my cards havn't been used since 2004 because I was in a DMP some are quite a few years old and I don't know when they were obtained they were destroyed over 4 years ago.
My salary goes into my account at the end of the month my appointment for BR is on the 5th Aug, all my DD'd will have gone out by then, am I OK to remove the rest of the cash (living expenses) and half of my BR fee before the hearing for when the account is frozen? I am requesting to the OR that my cash minder account is of no interest to them it is not a creditor and I want to keep the account open.
Thanks for your advice.

You need to say you don't have the old bank cards.
you need to list the Virgin card but state that it is a prepaid card and empty - they will need to check you are not hiding money there.
Just take the cash you actually need out of the account as it will only be frozen for a few days as long as the OR get the info from the bank and tells them they have no interest. Whether you are allowed to keep the account is the banks decision not the OR.
The OR will understand that you need some money to fund ongoing living expenses.
