I know I am likely to get a BRU and they are fairly "toothless" as Melanie puts it. Can you still go out and get a mortgage when you are on one of these. Lets say I get a 6 year one, but would like to move house after the IPA is over in 3 years, would it be possible. You just have to declare it at the point of application?
Or would even sub-prime lenders run a mile?

Posted - 13 July 2008 : 02:18:54 Up until 2 or 3 months back it was possible but a little expensive to get a mortgage 3 years after discharge. With the change in the market of late that would be less likely now.
I think that pretty much answers your question. Unfortunately I would doubt you could begin to look at taking out a mortgage until 2017 at the earliest if you get a 6 year BRU.

Posted - 12 July 2008 : 12:08:38 To be honest you can only really judge the mortgage market on todays market place and because of that i would have to say no. I'm not saying that would be impossible for you to get one as i am no mortgage broker but i think your chances are pretty much zero!
