Posted - 15 July 2008 : 21:32:36 Hi ... we are now ploughing on with our plan which is threefold:
a) Find Rented Accomodation
b) Hand keys back into Mortgagor - sever liabilities for bills etc
and c) petition for our bankruptcy over the next few weeks once ensconced in our rented accommodation.
Just one question re : Bankruptcy.
We have two cars both of which are valued at less than £2500. My car is worth approx £1000 and is needed to ferry me to work and back each day - some 25 mile round trip each day. My partners car is worth a bit more at £1700 and is needed in her job as a Community Care Assistant ( involves home care visits and therefore car to perform the role )
Would the OR allow us to keep both cars in the above instance?
Thanks

Posted - 15 July 2008 : 23:16:29 As long as you can prove that BOTH are needed and that you could not get by on one, then there should not be a problem. I'm sure they will enquire about transport links for yourself, so just fight your corner.
