hello, please could you give me any advice we have our court hearing next wednesday and will miss our first secured loan payment on that day.We wont miss our first mortgage payment until the 17th.Do we still have to pay our council tax for the property once we have moved out which will be the 15th Or are we liable for this until it has been repossesed. Its just that we will be paying it for our rented property as well. Also should we inform both mortgage and secured loan company before bankruptcy that we are surrendering the house or wait until the day ?
We have also informed the finance company that we shall be returning our car this week and they want a letter stating that we are voluntary surrendering the car we have included the shortfall in both sections of the forms but want to make sure what we need to write. thanks for any help.

thanks for the advice ,justwanted to be sure we are not having to pay for both properties. Also I have reduced my working hours and wont have any payslips reflecting my new income until 2 weeks after we are br.I know what my earnings will be so shall I justwrite and explain on a separate piece of paper and include this with my form on wednesday? I dont want our ipo to be worked out on my old payslips as these will leave more dispoable income .

Hi

The council should give you an exemption from paying council tax on the empty property if you let them know you have surrendered it.

Hi Wildberry,

You need to contact the local council and let them know you have moved out of the property and that it is being repossessed.

As far as the letter to the finance company you can keep this short and sweet as long as it says that you are surrendering the vehicle voluntarily this will be fine.

Kind Regards,
