Posted - 24 July 2008 : 13:57:04 Me Again Im consdering a career in the leisure industry - perhaps to do lifeguarding or something which involves coaching. I would imagine, as I'd be working with the general public, that I'd be CRB checked as most of the organisations seem to. What happens if your BR - does this affect your CRB checks and do employers take a real dim view of it if you're working in a people industry? Thanks for looking and if you have any clues I'd be grateful...

Posted - 24 July 2008 : 16:04:19 Sorry jacqstar, I didn't mean to alarm you. I was just trying to make a point about bankruptcy not affecting CRB checks etc.
Posted - 24 July 2008 : 15:55:23 My goodness Suzanne - I think I'll stick to lifeguard duties and coaching! Good to know there's a life after BR and thank you for your advice(s) on both of my queries today!

I know bankrupts who have started fostering and childminding prior to discharge
Posted - 24 July 2008 : 14:43:42 Hi Brett I breathe a huge sigh of relief to your reply. The whole purpose of my undertaking BR was to provide an opportunity to clear those debts which have been forcing me to work at high stress levels for too long. I have wanted for so long to have an opportunity to prove that I am good at something in a career I enjoy. The pay is really poor but I dont care. When I heard that BR may impinge on my CRB status I nearly cried! You've put my mind at rest. Many thanks,

CRB checks will not show up Bankruptcy only credit checks so this will not effect your planned career change.
