Posted - 24 July 2008 : 14:23:21 Hi everyone first post on this site. After having been in iva for 7 mths and it going wrong, we are now going bankrupt. After speaking to Jullian yesterday i have no doubt we are making the right choice. One thing troubling me is our bank account with the cooperative bank which we opened in jan 08 just before our ivas were approved. My daughter is disabled and her and my childrens benefit are paid into this along with my hubbys wages. Obviously i dont want it to be frozen . It is only a basic cashminder. THis is worrying me alot though . Any advice ?

If it is frozen it will only be a temporary freeze. The OR can let the bank know that they have no interest in the account as soon as they receive a bank statement showing transactions up to and including the date of the bankruptcy order. It is often quicker for you to get this info to the OR, or you can go to the branch and call the OR from there while the bank fax a copy over.
