Posted - 25 July 2008 : 23:16:47 My bankruptcy was discharged 12 months ago and I've accrued no further debt or black marks against me in that time. I would now like to open a normal current account giving me access to a cheque book as simple transactions such as leaving payment out for the milkman are difficult without access to cheques.
I'm not after any form of credit facility, overdraught, loan or mortgage just a straightforward current account. I've applied twice in the last 10 months or so and been denied both times. How long will I expect to have to wait until I can successfully open a current account?

Welcome Glenn and well done for getting through BR, even if you are still bearing the effects. This site is alive with experts and people in the know, however tonight is a bit quiet, so you may not get a response til tomorrow. You could also try the sister site http://www.iva.com as thats normally busier and someone may know there. Good luck.
