Posted - 26 July 2008 : 23:46:36 Hi, I have decided this week to petition for bankrupcy and have collected the forms from the court. I wondered if anybody could help with a couple of questions about the expenditure form. I'm clear on the amounts to declare for rent, council tax,tv licence, gas and electric, house insurance and travel expenses.I am a single person living on my own and would like some advice on budgeting for shopping i.e. food, cleaning products and toiletries. Also my pay as you go mobile phone {bearing in mind I don't have a landline} and clothes as I am not supplied with a uniform for work. I would be greatful for any ideas and info.thanks.

Posted - 27 July 2008 : 12:28:08 Hi nicki & welcome to the forum These things are difficult to guage as there seems to be little or no uniformity on expenditure allowances across the various OR offices throughout the country. As a single person I would suggest £275 for your housekeeping ; £30 - £40 for clothes. The mobile is one of the main points of debate where the OR is concerned. As you don't have a land line that will help justify the cost, but do you need it for work? If you don't £25 - £30 is often acceptable as that's a prudent level of cost for a land line. However, sometimes the OR may suggest that you fund your mobile costs from the disposable income he would NOT be taking if he imposed an IPA/IPO.
