I declared myself bankrupt in 2005.This was caused by someone I took on as a partner.I want to rent accomodation, but fear this will cause rejection. My bussiness (Graphic design) is now stabalised again and my credit is now recorded as fair. What else can I do? Thank you

Hi Kris
there's no way of knowing until you give it a try.
In my experience if you explain your position to the letting agent they would have an idea if you may have a problem re your credit history. They will also know which landlords would be fine with a previous bankrupt and which one's would not.
After my BR the first landlord I approached through an agent wanted 6 months + 6 weeks deposit in advance. The next one was fine with it all.

Assisting where I can.
