Hello,

Just wondering I am due to be automatically discharged in Nov 08, and how easy would it be just to get a basic account after this?

I was turned down for the Co-op Cashminder and Barclays whilst being bankrupt, so would this hinder me trying again when i am discharged?

I do not want a "fancy" account, just one i can do direct debits with.....as at the mo my wages are paid into my sisters account and she deals with all of my direct debits - would just like my freedom back.....

Thanks

Hi John,

Yes I am on the electoral roll at my present address. I wrote to Co-op to ask them why and they said they were not obliged to tell me. So, I have written to them again asking when I can re-apply and if I can re-apply. Very frustrating!

Will just have to go into every bank i can find and ask once i am discharged!

Thanks

Hi
I'm afraid these things are always in the hands of the banks themselves. The cashminder and the new basic Barclays account were set up to accommodate those with poor credit, including bankrupts.
Which begs the question, although I know you're not told, why your applications failed.
Are you on the electoral roll at your present address?
