I am getting married in a week and we have started receiving cheques in our married name. Obviously we can only pay these into a joint account which we don't currently have. I was discharged in March 2008, does anyone know which banks will do joint accounts for someone in my position?

yes it would, so i thougt that if phil already had a relationship with the bank this may not be a problem?! don't know if his partner is also an undischarged BR? if not and he already has an a/c somewhere they may be able to add her on?
Just an idea!

This would still be credit checked for a current account!!

hi
Do you or your partner have a bank account with anyone at the moment?
If so your own bank may be able to add the other person onto the existing account (the other person would just need to provided ID unless they also have an a/c with that bank)and there's probably just a form for you both to sign?
That would probably be the easiest way?

not come across that one, but my OH and I were declared BR last Friday and we have a joint co op cashminder, so these must be available to someone in your position also.
