Hi, I have got a Liability Order re an amount of Council Tax that wasn't paid on an investment property we sold in June. We went BR on 1st September and I included the amount on my SOA, can the baliiffs call or are we protected under the BR. Thanks

Hi Maz,

I agree with Harbourmaster here. If the council tax arrears were on your residential property which you were staying in, then they wouldn't have been written off and re-scheduled over a longer period. Perhaps Zoe can shed some more light on this.

As far as I am aware this amount will have been included in your BR. I have had a similar problem whereas I told the council about our BR, they still took me to court and got a liability order addressed to our new address... I went to see them on Friday and ......believe it or not......... I got an apology in person from the head of the department AND a letter the next day....
I am sure an expert will correct me if I am wrong..
