Posted - 02 May 2009 : 10:25:14 Hi, I am new and green. Is it possible for someone else to declare you bankrupt? I have separate debts of £9000 and £2500 owed to different creditors. The £9000 one has just arranged for me to be taken to court. I have a flat which probably has no equity in it, although I am not sure of that (it is worth around 300000k). Please could someone advise. Thank you in anticipation.

Yes, anyone you owe money to (as long as it is over £750) can apply to make you bankrupt.
