Posted - 01 August 2008 : 10:09:10 Hi all me yet again :) I know the OR may not allow us to keep our broadband and vision accounts as these are luxuries which if i want them would have to come out of disposable income i think it is but i have been trying to find out from them thats BT if they automatically cancel your contracts and bill you or if you can keep them as i know o2 will automatically close my mobile account once they know. Anyone else been able to keep a home phone etc once bankrupt. Please advise Thanks Jo

Posted - 11 August 2008 : 14:03:28 I have a landline and broadband deal with Virgin, if I was to cancel the broadband and just have the telephone service it would cost me more. At approx £23pm for broadband and telephone I am hoping I should be safe. |

Posted - 07 August 2008 : 19:43:52 I'm no expert on the matters by any means but lurking around I thought I should point out that Broadband, or any means of Internet access is not a luxury - for most people it's part of day to day living. For instance, remove internet access and things like job hunting become 20 times more difficult, free(ish) communication with friends impossible short of meeting up with them, online banking, account management for bills (gas, electric etc). So in a nutshell, don't worry about it. Any receiver that classifies it a luxury is stuck in the past and should be re-trained :) |

Posted - 06 August 2008 : 16:16:54 Hi thanks all I have spoken to BT and they have been great. They have reduced my packages, removed the vision account and saved me some money. They were not worried about my BR and said as quoted here already "that as long as i pay then there is nothing to worry about". Thanks again though Jo

BT won't cancel anything as long as you continue to pay them.
