Posted - 04 August 2008 : 23:22:09 Hi all, hope you are all well.
I have had a Statuory Demand from one of my Creditors (1 of 15) for filing of BR and to be honest I welcome it. No assets, no property and only on Benefits inc. DLA, Child Tax Credit & Child Benefit and partner (not married, together for 3 years) receives Carer's Allowance (for me, I am disabled) and Income Support. All benefits go into an account changed from joint to his sole name. I have cancelled all the Standing Order Token Payments to all Creditors today as I know BR is inevitable (approx £30,000 debt, all in my name only) and would like to ask for advice on the 1 CCJ I have. Do I cancel this too or do I keep paying that one or would an OR see that as preferential treatment. I'm not sure as it is already a Court Order for payment and do not want the Baliffs knocking.
Any help and advice would be gratefully received as this is the only issue prior to BR that I am concerned about.
Thank you all for a fab forum, love and luck to all of you. RSVP, Kathy x

Posted - 08 August 2008 : 08:04:53 Hi Chris & thanks for your reply. Ahh bless you about my signature.....it's a saying that my Mum used to say and I've always remembered it and tried my best to make actions speak louder that words (so to speak). Thanks also for the info....I have actually cancelled it but I think I will re-instate it as in hindsight I totally agree with you. I appreciate your advice info, thanks so much. Kathy.

Posted - 06 August 2008 : 09:36:33 Hiya and can I just say I love your signature.... Right...when will you be declared br?? If you don't pay your CCJ then you will be in contempt of court but will it really make a difference??? You may risk having the baliffs turn up so I would say to be on the safe side continue paying. An expert will be able to advise you better, xx
