Posted - 05 August 2008 : 08:50:23 Please Help. Being chased by UK banks and the resources to back them back. I have moved out of the country, Canada and am wondering if I can declare bankruptcy from overseas. I don't have the money to fly over and I'm not sure how long the process takes and have limited places to stay

Posted - 05 August 2008 : 10:35:43 Hi Suzanne is right, however unless you have a friend or relative that is prepared to see the process through on your behalf (i.e. accept power of attorney) then the cost to engage a professional is very likely to outweigh the cost of your air fare and accommodation in UK.
Posted - 05 August 2008 : 10:04:08 My understanding is that you can provide someone with power of attourney in order to do this for you. You would need to get legal/insolvency advice on your particular case to be sure.
