Please Help. Being chased by UK banks and the resources to back them back. I have moved out of the country, Canada and am wondering if I can declare bankruptcy from overseas. I don't have the money to fly over and I'm not sure how long the process takes and have limited places to stay

Hi
Suzanne is right, however unless you have a friend or relative that is prepared to see the process through on your behalf (i.e. accept power of attorney) then the cost to engage a professional is very likely to outweigh the cost of your air fare and accommodation in UK.

My understanding is that you can provide someone with power of attourney in order to do this for you. You would need to get legal/insolvency advice on your particular case to be sure.
