Hi All,

Well a couple of weeks ago, OR wrote to me wanting me to sign an IPA for £216 per month due to NT coding, having done some sums on my payslips I successfull asked them to reduce this to £180 per month as I work as an IT Contractor and if I don't work I don't get paid, OR agreed this, with me writing just 1 letter which also included my excel spreadsheet printouts.

Noticed today on my payslip that National Insurance contributions had risen by at least £112 per month due to increase in my gross pay caused by the NT coding, I called the OR and they have agreed that IPA will be reduced by the same amount as inceases elsewhere, so IPA should go down to approx £68 per month.

The lesson here is keeps your eye's on your payslips and if you see changes then let the OR know.

Hope this helps someone.

Regards

Delboy

Hi D_Mummy,

No I didn't either, don't think the OR did either, it may be that because I essentially self employed that I noticed the difference, I pay both the employee's and the employers contribution so to me it makes a lot of difference. But it is something that everyone should keep an eye if they get an NT coding.

I had no idea Delboy, that the NI contributions would increase! Didnt think of that. We have 0 disposable income on our figures, but naturally that may change.
Thanks for the tip.
Lovely Jubbly (sorry couldnt resist)
