Posted - 08 August 2008 : 09:40:48 I declared bankruptcy a year ago,and making payments for four more years,my husband did not.Unfortunately, my husband lost his job 6 months ago and even though I'm working the payment takes a third of our income. My vehicle was in the bankruptcy and I'm wondering if I can get something less expensive in a vehile. We are currently at risk to loss our home. We are a family of three. Thank you

Posted - 14 August 2008 : 20:10:00 Hi can you remember the overall monthly income figure to the household declared on your SoA? (your net income + husband's contribution + benefits if any). And can you remember the household expenditure figure which was accepted by the Official Receiver?

Posted - 14 August 2008 : 19:24:39 The attorney never talked to about disposable income. Even though I was the only one declaring, he considered my husbands income, but now he has been out of work for six months. My income is 28,000 a year and my payment is 780. a month. Can not make payment at end of month and do not know what will happen to me. Thanks, IMPquote: Originally posted by John
Hi Imp & welcome to the forum As you declared bankruptcy a year ago, there should only be 2 years left to pay if you are in an IPA. The payment should not take a third of your income unless that income is comparitively high. Would you be able to supply a little more detail of your case?
