For information Sky has advised that no one but the account holder can cut off a Sky account not even an OR.
Hi well what a funny one i had, my or interview yesterday asked if i had anything of personal value, to which i replied my sky box, the lady said it was no value to them but it means the world to me with the premiership starting next weekend, so as far as i am concerned my or was not interested in sky, she maybe a rugby fan!!!! |

Posted - 12 August 2008 : 16:29:31 I never mentioned it either he picked it up off my bank statements as I pay by direct debit. |

Posted - 12 August 2008 : 16:22:44 I never gave the details of my mobile phone contract to the OR and that was an existing contract. I told them I had a contract mobile and was it ok for me to use it, and I was told it was fine, and they didn't even ask which network I was on!
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Posted - 12 August 2008 : 16:21:12 Just called the OR and he said they have to write to all companies in which you have a pre-existing contract. I told him I intend to pay from my surplus but he said they still have to do it. Just rang Sky and he said they do not care about customer personal circumstances as they as they are getting paid and if you fall in arrears they cut you off. Can't say fairer than that. |

Posted - 12 August 2008 : 16:14:59 i cannot see that they would need to write to Sky if they are not a creditor. THere is no credit agreement. You pay in advance for sky not arrears. Surely this is excessive information under DATA protection???? I would query with the OR first i think he has given you duff advice. |

Posted - 12 August 2008 : 16:13:04 Hi It's similar with mobile contracts and car finance in that they may not be allowed in some cases by the OR but the network provider or finance company may be happy to continue. I know my mobile contract was fine in BR but that's a few years ago now. I would give Sky a call and explain.

Posted - 12 August 2008 : 16:05:04 OR told me that I am not allowed the contract as it is pre-bankruptcy and they write to Sky to terminate the contract and it was upto me to speak to them and negotiate keeping the contract going, I never listed it as an expenditure as I was gonna pay from my disposable income. |
John |
Posted - 12 August 2008 : 16:02:45 Hi sueann it's not acceptable as an expenditure but I'm sure SKY will allow, as would the OR, for you to continue subscription from the disposable income the OR does not claim.
