I have recently had a rebate from last years working tax credit - will this be taken away as an asset. Also I have let child benefit and disability living allowance build up in my bank account for the last few months as my husband and I are separating and I am moving out in October. I need this money for therapy for my child once I am a single parent.

Thanks John, I can be a little bit more confident about this one now. I can't believe the number of questions that come up, my head is constantly buzzing!!!!!!

Hi lillyb

remove the rebate and the build up of benefits from the accounts before you go BR to avoid the funds being unaccessible when the accounts are frozen.

If the OR asks re the withdrawals from the information on your statements explain what they are and what you need to do with the funds.
You should be ok.
