Hi all,

We haven't been around for a few days cos we've been busy moving into our rented house. It was odd leaving the family home behind, especially as that was where we lived when our little one arrived, but we actually feel quite settled already and the house is actually nicer than ours was! What we need to know now, if you're around, John ,is do we hand the keys back now? I know I've asked this before and was advised hang on till after we go BR (around 11th Sept), but is there a reason not to do it now? We just feel it's another hurdle it would be good to get out of the way.

Thanks,

CG. x

Hi
as you have freed up some DI I'm sure the OR will be fine with the rental.

Re the address, what I meant was to send the keys and a letter to the mortgage lender but do not advise that lender of your new address, let them wait and hear from the OR.

Thanks John.

The house is definitely nicer than the other one-bigger and much newer. We were slightly worried what the OR might say about it being bigger than the other etc but as I don't drive, we need it to be on a good bus route for my work and for little one's childcare. We did see a couple of other slightly cheaper ones, but when we called the letting agent they had a clause in their tenancy agreements about bankruptcy and we needed security for our little one. The lettings agency we got this house through have nothing in their agreement about BR and say as long as we're paying there should be no problem. I hope that's good enough for the OR! It's £795 per month, so not massively expensive-and MUCH cheaper than our mortgage plus secured loan payments, so should free up something for an IPA which we definitely wouldn't have had if we'd stayed in the other house. What do you think?

Also, when you said about omitting the new address, where did you mean? Somewhere on the SoA?

Thanks again,

CG. x

Hi CG
great to hear that you've settled into your new home so well and that you actually feel it's a nicer house...every cloud as they say.

There's no reason why you shouldn't pop the keys in a jiffy bag together with an explanatory letter and send it recorded delivery.
If you want the OR to deal with it all once you're BR then remember to omit your new address.

A job well done!
