Well done SL44. That was really useful. I'm going to paste that into my blog as it will probably get lost here in a few days. Made me feel better again. Thanks

Hi

most people get a brief telephone call either on the day or within the first week.

The interview is then either an arranged telephone call or face to face meeting. This would depend upon your own individual circumstances - level of debt, running a business etc etc etc .

during these they go through your forms and ask you to go over the debt burden and how it mounted , what you did with assets etc.

they are nothing to worry about. I would recommend you have your SOA infront of you before the call / meeting as an aid plus try to create a time diary of what happened & when.

i.e.
in 2000 lost job so income dropped by 2k per month

in 2002 x hapened

in 2004 y happened

in 2006 started debt management

in 2007 etc etc etc.

this really helps get things in order and will make for a much quicker discussion

That helps loads 369.
You've actually managed to calm me a wee bit.
What surprised me yesterday (when I went BR) was when the OR said we will write to you to see if you require an interview!!!!!!!!!!

Does this mean that some dont get interviewed? Has anyone else heard of this?

Hi Maizie,

Don't worry just be honest with the OR.

You do know some of the details....like you said the loan consolidation was 2 or 3 years ago....they won't want a day/month/year from you, just roughly how long ago it was.

Just say it was living expenses, that you were taking money out of one account to pay the other one off, the 0% interest stopped on one card, so you got another, then you tried to fix it by getting a loan consolidation, but it didn't work...

Just be honest with them.

I honestly can't remember hardly any of my details. I have had my credit cards for years, loan consolidation was about 3 years ago... I think or it could be 2. Can't remember what I spent anything on because I have nothing to show for it! Alot of help Im going to be when I get interviewed!!!

I don't know about anyone else, but when i had my OR interview over the phone, the OR just said right we will just go through all of your creditors.

So for example they would say Egg, when did you get this account, how much do you have on there, and what did you spend it on?

And then they would ask the same for the rest of the credit cards, bank accounts, loans etc.

For most of my answers i said, I got the account about 5 years ago, I think I have about £3,000 on there, and I spent it on either putting myself through uni, travelling, living expenses, etc etc.

All they need is an answer to write down.

Just write a list of each creditor and next to it the three questions: when did you get this account, how much do you have on there, and what did you spend it on? And then put your answers next to it and then you will be prepared for their questions.

Also, they may want you to summorize your expenditure, I just said the same reasons; putting myself through uni, living expenses, travelling, higher cost of living, etc etc.

Hope that has helped....do not worry...they go through it very methodically.

Hi Soscared,

We only had to supply 6 - 12mths statements, some other bits like loan agreements, some utility bills.
They asked us to post down to them ready for the main interview.
They will ask you what they will need and anything you dont have they can find if they want it.
Dont worry yourself, if you have not got it well they cant have it.
What you describe is like DM says very similar to mine and others.
Dont panic you wont be on trial just say it how it is and be honest.
Good luck
Jo

Exactly.....one step at a time.
It is probably wise to gather together what you can. In a nutshell your OR may or may not ask for these things.
What you have described with regards to your situation echoes what many have experienced on here. I know that it matched my story in many places.

Please try and stay focused. Being in control will make you feel heaps better.
